A Buddhist monk, the Rev. Venerable Waga Gnanaloka, practiced medicine in the quiet village of Batalanda about 12 miles outside of Colombo, the commercial center of Sri Lanka. He comes from a long line of Doctors practicing traditional medicine and he had a degree from Vidyodaya Pirivena, an institution imparting education to Buddhist monks.
At eighty years of age the monk looked like forty, but more important was the fact that he led a very active life. Hundreds gathered at the Veda Gedera (Home of medicine) where an initial spoon full of Pranajeewa Oil was administered to every patient. News reached far and wide, all over the country of the tremendous relief that followed from the administration of just a single table spoon of Pranajeewa.His only understudy was Dr. Sujeewa Vithanage, a young doctor with a medical degree from the University of Colombo(B.A.M.S.), who was engaged in extensive research into the ancient system of medicine. Together they made the Pranajeewa Oil in cauldrons. Pranajeewa was a recipe from the monk’s ancestors and dates back over 900 years, originally written on ola leafs. The current recipe remains unchanged for at least 200 years.

What goes into the making of Pranajeewa Oil? The process involved in making Pranajeewa Oil is accurate, yet it is as ancient today as it was two hundred years ago. The procedure takes an average of four and a half to six months. Rare and precious herbs go into the making of the oil. The oils used in the making of Pranajeewa are made within the premises of the Ayurveda Hospital and the herbs simmer for a period of six months. After the goodness is absorbed, the concentrated oil is poured into bottles and is ready. Pranajeewa does not contain preservatives, colorings, poisonous chemicals, micro-organisms or bacteria, ash particles, sugar, or yeast additives because the ancient recipe does not call for these harmful additions. Pranajeewa contains only margosa oil, gingelly oil, ghee, castor oil, mee thel, and over 100 kinds of natural herbs.
Tests conducted by the Sri Lankan Industrial Institute of Technology show that Pranajeewa Oil does not contain any ethyl alcohol or heavy materials. Amazing new finding is that it is also on par or even better than any of the energy boosters available in the market. The normal dosage for adults consists of 2 table spoons per day with a glass warm water, and children 6-12 years one tee spoon. It can be taken any time of day and should be stored in a warm dry place. Pranajeewa can be taken along with one’s usual or routine medication.

Setysuwa Pranajeewa is made according to an ancient herbal formula that dates back to over 3000 years. The current formula was recorded over 200 years ago and remained unchanged.
